Applying for a Job
How do I apply for a job abroad?
Browse our open positions on the Jobs page, choose the one that matches your skills, and click "Apply for this job". Fill in your details and attach your resume. You may also visit our office in Malate, Manila during business hours.
Can I apply for more than one job?
Yes. You may apply for any positions you are qualified for. Our recruitment team will review your profile and endorse you to the opening that best fits your experience.
What happens after I submit my application?
Our team reviews every application. If you meet the employer's requirements, we will contact you by phone or email to schedule an initial interview or assessment. Please make sure your contact details are correct.
I applied but haven't heard back. What should I do?
Employers often receive many applications, so screening can take time. If you have not heard from us within two weeks, you may call or email our office and give your full name and the job you applied for.
A job I'm interested in says "Applications closed". Can I still apply?
Closed postings are no longer accepting applicants. Similar openings are posted regularly, so check the Jobs page often or send us your resume so we can contact you when a matching position opens.
Requirements and Documents
What documents do I need?
Most positions require an updated resume, a valid passport (at least one year before expiry), government-issued IDs, a birth certificate, diplomas or transcripts, training certificates (such as TESDA NC), and certificates of employment. The job posting lists any additional requirements.
Do I need a passport before applying?
A valid passport is strongly recommended because employers usually ask for it during selection. If you are still waiting for your passport, you may apply, but you will need it before your documents can be processed.
Is work experience required?
It depends on the position. Many employers ask for one to two years of relevant experience, while some entry-level roles accept fresh graduates or applicants with training certificates. Check the qualifications listed in each job posting.
Do I need to take a medical exam?
Yes. Selected applicants must pass a pre-employment medical exam at a DOH-accredited clinic before deployment. We will tell you where and when to take it once you have been selected.
Fees and Legitimacy
Do I have to pay to apply?
No. Applying, submitting your documents and being interviewed are free. Any fees later in the process are only those allowed by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), and we always issue an official receipt. Household service workers are not charged a placement fee.
Is C.A.N.A. Placement Services a licensed agency?
Yes. We are a licensed recruitment agency for overseas employment. You can confirm our license status anytime on the DMW website's list of licensed recruitment agencies.
How can I avoid illegal recruiters and job scams?
Only deal with licensed agencies, never pay fees without an official receipt, and be careful with offers that promise very high salaries or guaranteed visas. If someone contacts you using our name, verify it by calling our office directly or visiting us in person.
Processing and Deployment
How long does processing take?
It varies by employer and destination country. From selection to deployment, processing usually takes one to three months, covering the contract, medical exam, visa, and DMW requirements.
What is the Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS)?
PDOS is a required seminar for first-time overseas workers. It covers your rights and duties under your contract, the culture and laws of your destination country, and practical tips for working abroad. We will schedule it for you before your flight.
Who pays for my airfare and visa?
In most job orders the employer covers airfare and the work visa. The exact terms are written in your employment contract, which we explain to you before you sign.
Can I bring my family with me?
This depends on the destination country's immigration rules and your position and salary. Most workers start alone; some countries allow family visas later. Ask our team about the rules for your destination.
Working Abroad
What support do you give while I'm working abroad?
We stay in touch with our deployed workers and their employers. If you have problems at work, you can contact our office, and you may also reach the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) or the Philippine Embassy in your host country.
What happens when my contract ends?
Your employer may offer to renew your contract, or you may return home. If you want to work abroad again, you are welcome to apply with us for a new position.
